  1. Who'd have dreamed of a NYC where major streets aren't crowded with people? It approaches the visual effect achieved in the past only with the long exposures required by pinhole still photography.

  3. I see that you have mounted your camera inside the car as opposed to outside in previous videos. I thought mounting outside was not a good idea, I guess you have realised it as well, hope your camera is ok

  4. Thanks AK, this drive takes me back to my old haunts! Grew up in Whitestone, but Flushing, Bayside, Great Neck and College Point were also places I used to hang. I recognized just about everyplace you went today. As a suggestion, maybe your next driving video could include your voice talking us through stuff. Also, 2 requests: maybe driving tours thru Whitestone and/or Great Neck. Beautiful neighborhoods and homes in these two places. Thanks again!

Merci. B [France]

  6. Interesting. I grew up there in the 60s and 70s. People who did not live through those years in Flushing can't even imagine what the area and the trains were like back then. Not saying all bad… after all… there was Gertz, Kleins, John;s Bargains stores, Gloria's Pizza , The Hurdy Gurdy etc etc. It was good. Of course Flushing this day had less people than usual but for a wet and dreary Sunday afternoon… it did not seem crazy empty.

  7. What you have is a on/off silence.. Like turning down the volume on the camera.. You need the sounds of New York without the traffic and horns.. I call it the, "Sounds of silence".. Great video but I'm a background noise kind of guy..

  8. Thank you for the trip. I live in NY but still cool to see. Going to post a thought here.. do with it what you will…
I have watched most of these videos you have done in the last two weeks and I guess I am finding it interesting that you NEVER see ambulances racing by. I point this out because you are driving all over I would have thought there would be ambulances going by all the time. I have also noticed in my own neighborhood that is near a fire department that sirens I have become so used to hearing have almost stopped. Food for thought. Stay safe stay home.

  9. BJ's is the best shopping option in this area, especially if you're 60 years old or older (or are going shopping with someone who is). BJs opens from 8-9 am everyday for the 60 and older crowd. Those long lines are for J Mart, which is a Chinese supermarket. I wonder what those lines would look like if Caldor or Woolworth were still in Flushing.
