Brooklyn Heights Walking Tour | Brooklyn NYC's Finest Neighborhood

In this video, John, a tour guide with Free Tours by Foot NYC, takes you on a walking tour of Brooklyn Heights. MORE NYC VIDEOS: https://www.youtube.com/c/FreeToursbyFootNewYorkWalks/videos.

Known as America’s first suburb, Brooklyn Heights is truly a gem. Travel and Leisure named it one of America’s top 10 most beautiful neighborhoods, and its beauty is rivaled only by its place in American history.

These quaint, tree-lined streets have been the sites of Revolutionary War battles, abolitionist activism and have inspired numerous novelists.

Visit a stop on the Underground Railroad, or the home of Truman Capote, where he penned Breakfast at Tiffany’s and where Jackie Robinson signed with the Dodgers.

  1. Is 'Arthur Miller's birthplace' being used metaphorically in this tour? He was born in Harlem. I think the locations pointed out here were places he lived?

  2. The Casino may have had the first indoor tennis court in the USA (the video says it opened in 1905), but the Tennis Court Oath of the french revolution was signed in 1789 at an indoor tennis court (that had been built in 1686 at Versailles).
