Lyrics:

I wanna run, I want to hide
I wanna tear down the walls
That hold me inside.
I wanna reach out
And touch the flame
Where the streets have no name.

I wanna feel sunlight on my face.
I see the dust-cloud
Disappear without a trace.
I wanna take shelter
From the poison rain
Where the streets have no name
Where the streets have no name
Where the streets have no name.

We’re still building and burning down love
Burning down love.
And when I go there
I go there with you
(It’s all I can do).

The city’s a flood, and our love turns to rust.
We’re beaten and blown by the wind
Trampled in dust.
I’ll show you a place
High on a desert plain
Where the streets have no name
Where the streets have no name
Where the streets have no name.

We’re still building and burning down love
Burning down love.
And when I go there
I go there with you
(It’s all I can do).

  2. I was born in late '70s, raised in some of the, Metallica, Guns n' roses, Run DMC, LL cool J, Cypress hills, Gangstarr, NWA, , Some rock, some hip hop, some techno even, in the club 'Tunnel days. But this music will always outstand All, out shine most. It hits hard, memories how classy, how fun, how traditional things were. I mis'M, but embedded in my memory 4ever. 💜 🙏 #CranE© #RidgewoodQueens

  3. LOVE WHEN THE POLICE SHUT IT DOWN. LOVE THE POLICE! WE WOULD BE FAR WORSE WITHOUT THEM! GOD BLESS THE POLICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  4. I remember watching that video when it came out, and I think there was a different one on MTV (Back when it only played music). It showed the Police comming on the roof, and Edge was walking away playing his guitar as if he was giving them a big, FU. Here, you see they simply left based on the explanation on the police and city council members explaining the big traffic problem being caused. In this version, It appeared the Band was very professional about how they finished the song, and worked with the police in shutting down.

  5. I remember when this happened it was so damn epic, I'll never forget that feeling of being there in the crowd, the noise was deafening, man it's hard to believe that was 35 yrs ago and I was a whole 2 yrs old.

  6. I remember being a senior in high school when this happened. Was never a huge fan, but U2 was massive back then and you couldn't escape them on the radio or on MTV (back when MTV actually played videos)

  7. I always was a huge u2 fan… I met bono when I was 11!! I was absolutely flabbergasted… few years ago my first concert!! Love love love to this song!! ❤
